The Sambhogakaya manifestation of Mandarava, before all others most deserves the title of "Devil", because she has, as a female entity the power to direct the primordial life force towards her worshipers and she does that irrespective of the pain and suffering this will cause. Her motive is her own delight and pleasure of power.
Failure to surrender to death is the same as failure to surrender to life.
Manipulating the life force at the cost of violating another human heart is the pinnacle of self-service.
The value of a life does not increase with time, only with the quality of benevolent wisdom and skill. If time is valued higher than benevolence, all wisdom and skill to increase the length of time becomes harmful and violates life itself. It ceases to be wisdom and skill and turns into evil craftiness.
Padmasambhava is not only a person from the past. His mindstream is present within you and many others, who aspire to his quality. Historical facts may be forgotten, but spiritual qualities are never lost. They manifest themselves beyond the workings of the mind. Nothing is added, nothing subtracted. The historical Padmasambhava had no higher spiritual purity , no greater beneficial effect than you.
In general, no person from the past was in any way better or more benevolent than the people, who live on earth today. Glorifying or even deifying past personages is the same as glorifying and deifying one's own illusory ego structure. Nothing to do with reality. Nothing to do with real achievement or real beneficial effect.
